I am applying with D Z in North Salt Lake. May I ask you some questions?

Sure. But I am in Ft Worth, not SLC.
Keep in mind it may take me a week or so to answer, but I am off Monday & will try.

Thank you. I'm applying with a contractor in SLC. Will it be terminal to terminal? And, would you say it's possible to move to solo home more than 2 days a week?

Solo home? I suppose if you blow your new boss and you're good at it.
Solo pays less generally, and usually the more senior and dependable drivers earn them.
Terminal to terminal? Maybe, depends on what's available. I am on a team butthead run, 555 miles each way. We meet our opposing team at a truckstop. We know them well, and it usually goes off without much hassle. Other runs are terminal to terminal. Having a good partner is key number one. Key number two is making good friends with all the girls that work in the office. You nice to them...they nice to you... Don't get mad at them and bring them cupcakes from Walmart once or twice a month. That'd be enough, they're too fat already.

    Rubicon Thanks this.

Is it 1099 or W2 and what do you think my checks will look like with 20 months experience? Thank you!

FedEx REQUIRES it to be W2 between you and the contractor.
Check size? All depends on miles and your contractor. I clear about $1250 a week. Your results may vary, in fact they WILL vary. The contractor will tell you what the run pays and how many miles it is. Contractor to contractor varies. Some contractors provide nice new tractors with bells and whistles, like a fridge. Others will put you in smelly old junk. Some provide vacation pay, holiday pay, etc. Expect less in your check if your boss is generous in other areas.
