There was one in San Antonio yesterday. Guy was shooting from the N. 281 and 1604 flyover than drove to the airport and opened fire there. He was takin down by a cop before he got in. Witnesses say He hit no one and was not aiming at anyone. He was a mentally ill man looking for death by cop it seems.
‘Active shooter’ shot, killed at San Antonio International Airport by officer, SAPD chief saysPoleCrusher, bzinger and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
I'm always reminded we share the world with evil people. Some people can't get a good night's rest unless the shed some innocent blood. Evil people don't want to dwell amongst evil people no they hate good people enjoying the beauty of living. My heart goes out to those people who got up this morning to take care of themselves and their families. It was there last time. May God bless their broken hearts & shattered lives.Trucker61016, nredfor88, PoleCrusher and 2 others Thank this.

It's hard not to bring politics into it. No point in pushing mass shootings in the media when the government at that point is Red. Just stick to making Red look bad, no matter how you have to spin it. Now that the government is blue, they have a better chance at passing bills that #### with 2A, so they change their focus.
Other than that, people have been cooped up for a year over Corona, and many have lost businesses and their livelihood. Not hard to think many are on the brink of saying "#### it".autopaint, Last Call, Trucker61016 and 3 others Thank this. -
Troubling, indeed. I'm listening to a classic rock station, current tune by Traffic, "And it wasn't the bullet that laid them to rest, was low spark of high heeled boys", meaning, it wasn't the actual bullet, but the overall rebels in our society intent on causing harm, and that was written in 1971. Without bringing in too much religion, it simply has to be those peoples turn to die, through these fanatics, I mean, how else can you explain it? It's the never ending struggle of good vs. evil, and sadly, as these people continue to surface, we haven't seen anything yet. I have mid 30's kids growing up in this madness. I think this went on for a long time, it's just today, the computer brings it to our kitchen tables. Shame, it's how a society implodes. My late mom, she predicted all this, I remember her saying, "you folks are screwed in the future and mayhem will result". She was a sharp woman, and I, no the world misses her and people like her.

I think media is a big issue. JMO, but I believe people who are suffering from mental illness, get these ideas put in their head when they see these stories, and all the media attention surrounding them.Last Call, O.Henry, Midwest Trucker and 6 others Thank this.

Fully agree. On one hand, I want the media censored on these issues. They care more about ad revenue and ratings than they do future bloodshed. "If it bleeds, it leads."
But on the other hand, I'm fully against censorship, so we're basically stuck with things the way they are. Fortunately, actual murders by gun are very very low in comparison to other ways you can die, so it's much more of a non-issue than they make it out to be. For example, the vast majority of murders are with handguns, yet government is trying to ban AR's?? Riddle me that one.Trucker61016, JonJon78, bzinger and 2 others Thank this. -
Nobody is going to win here, because no one will admit they are wrong. I understand both sides, why punish responsible gun owners because of isolated ( so far) incidents, like saying, we're taking away your motorcycles because people get killed on them, yet on the other hand, it's far too easy to get a gun today and allows disgruntled people to do harm. I don't see any way out of this. The media,,,the root of all evil, overtaking money as the previous root, 2 to 1, I bet.JonJon78, 86scotty, nredfor88 and 1 other person Thank this.

The answer is simple, but the solution is not. This issue is caused by the disintegration of the nuclear family. Dad's gone, and the kids turn to gangs to provide the "family" aspect. In turn, they decide to protect themselves with guns as they turn to crime. Get rid of welfare, get rid of no-consequence "convenience" abortion, and bring "dads" back.
If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: "If you're going to take away the guns, take them from the criminals first. You know, as a dry run." Take guns from law-abiding citizens, and you'll not only leave guns in the hands of criminals, but you'll make overnight felons out of almost every one of us.TokyoJoe, jraulpilot1998, Midwest Trucker and 5 others Thank this. -
It's always been easy for criminals to get guns. It's not even all that hard to make your own one shot wonder. The answer to the evil, deranged person intent on doing harm, is the ability to defend yourself against them.
Criminals do not care about gun laws... they're criminals, who operate outside the law.201, Brettj3876, nredfor88 and 2 others Thank this.
