I live in Dallas and want to a be a P&D driver. Which company would be better in terms of pay equipment and overall better?

I got a year of experience recently and currently work the night shift doing line haul and some delivering with Schneider. I'll be getting endorsements here soon...

@Fuelinmyveins works at FedEx hope he might chime info about fedex. I worked at OD as a city P&D, you will go out with average of 6 to 10 stops and all the stops are close to each other unless you run a peddle route. You do couple pick ups and come back to the yard to do a swap. Pay it depends on your experience but if im not mistaken OD will start you at $25 an hour, top pay is close to $29 dls. Equipment is very clean and nice. Benefits are top notch as well. Also when you start you might be one of the latest guy i.e starting at 11 or noon, dont get discouraged if you start late it will get better with time. You will be given a review the first 90 days in regards to your perfomance and appearance.

Overall OD is a great company to work for.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for the info!
    What is a peddle route?
How long are the shifts usually?
How long does the starting at 11 or noon thing last before earlier starts?

Couple months before you start coming early. It also depends on the needs of freight. A peddle route is when you go out there to the country and theres time where pick ups and deliveries are a bit spread out. It also takes 3 years to top out and you can run linehaul on the weekends to get extra pay. On a busy time you can get up to 12 hrs a day and regular season 10hrs. Again it all depends on location. Since you from the dallas area theres a chance of making them hours.
