The irony in all of thus is that should I stick SNI out for 6mo, I'm considering a financed truck and going on the choice program. SMH...

I talk to a number of the O/O L/O drivers on SNI choice, and they all love it. Making great money, full control of where the truck goes, and know exactly when home is coming. Talked to a few on their second or more truck through the program and still loving it. Most people I know don't make big expensive mistakes twice.
Anyone else see the irony in that last sentence? Haha. -

Met an O/O who purchased his truck from Schneider in '95, very happy with Choice program. Leaves Kentucky on Mondays, takes long money load to NE, then takes good paying hops back home. Always makes church on Sunday. Looked very fresh and this was Friday night in Plainfield, Indiana, greater Indianapolis. Has same truck. Happy camper. We chatted for about 30 minutes at shipper/receiver.

I will leave it at this, if Schneider (that's your company right ?) doesnt take care of you now while they can use you as a company driver just explain to me why you think all of a sudden you think they will as a lease driver.
Lux Prometheus Thanks this. -

Right on! -- I don't think they will. -
Man, Schneider has its moments, but there are times they just really #### you. I guess its all the megas really. I love to have the wheels spinning, I'm rarely late on my loads. It's going to be a painful ride to the 6 month or 1 year mark. I might switch to the tanker division at the 6 month mark, or I might just bail and see if I can get oilfield work.

Don't think I haven't had this go through my mind 100 times already. Had I not talked to real live guys who were happy and seemed happy, I would be more skeptical. Hard trend to ignore:
Veteran company drivers leaving in droves. You barely ever talk to a driver with more than a year in with SNI.
Guys on their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th truck through SNI finance.
I'm thinking the control is what makes it. Knowing you can run how you want (sorta - law thing, you know), where you want, and be home when you want. I watched a guy book his loads for the week right in front of me. It seems legit.
Yet... We have the company side... -
You've never heard of schizophrenia, eh?
Like Con-Way Truck Load not allowed to park in Con-Way Freight yards? One paid mileage and the other paid hourly.
Having a load board that you choose your load from is the antithesis of forced dispatch.
Oh, didn't they tell you THAT in orientation?
That forced dispatch means you get screwed, you get what you get?
Sorry. Ya musta been daydreamin' when they explained THAT to ya. -
Listen cupcake..sounds like you need money fast..everything else is irrelevant..right?? You need to start looking in the oilfield section of this forum..plenty of jobs for people in your situation in the oilfields...just dont quit before you find another job and DONT ABANDON TRUCK
or else...
