Don't worry about pushing the clutch all day....you will float the gears or even have an automatic transmission. I wear flip flops in the summer and water resistant tennis shoes in the winter.

My previous life was new home construction so I have had many pairs of boots. Everyone is right, you get what you pay for. I have gotten lucky a few times and bought cheap boots that worked well, but only for a short time. A good boot will wear out before it stops being comfortable! But I haven't seen anything about Rocky boots. I have a pair now and they are very comfortable. My only complaint is the sole is too slippery in the ice and snow. I will probably get them resoled with a good Vibram logger sole and go on happy! Redwing comfort force were also very comfy.:yes2557:

I wear Brahma boots that I buy at Wally World for less than $40. Roughout leather, pull on boots w/ a fairly flat heel. They break in in two days or less, and last a year or two. They are light, but still give the support I need. I agree with the need to put out a professional appearance and these do the trick. Just a newbies .02...

I have been buying the Brahma boots for awhile from Wally world .... they are cheap and work for what I was doing .... I had been running a fuel truck for the last 5 years doing truck to truck refueling .... and no matter what boot I was using I would wear the sole out in about 3 months from the constant walking on asphalt and concrete in the lots and the constant diesel fuel on them .... so I went to the cheaper ones because of that

I have a pair of redwings also but only use them on occasion .... the sides dont come up high enough for me and there not steel toes .... would rather pay the $40 every 3 months or so than the $100+ for boots .... if the company I was at paid some of the boot price then I would have gone with the higher end ones

But getting ready to run flatbeds here once these wear out I will probably go to a better boot seeing I wont be walking the asphalt as much

    Weyell,
I haven't driven a truck all day, yet. But, in my particular case; the only place I like to go barefoot is on the beach, or in the grass. Why, you might ask?
    1) I don't like dirty feet
    2) I need arch support
    3) Whenever I drop something, I have this reflex to try and catch it with my foot
    4) Whenever I drop something it always seems to land on my feet
    5) My feet aren't caloused, and therefor kinda sensitive
    6) I don't like dirty feet

So, if you have no affliction for any of the above. You wouldn't need to worry about boots/shoes. Hats off! :)

You misunderstood, Crash. I do the same thing too, off with the shoes/boots and let my feet breathe (albeit, usually through socks). And, when it's time to go, get the footwear back on and roll!

If you have a nice comfortable pair its not that bad. Being a local driver I cant just whip my boots on and off at every stop
