I admire your thrive and determination. When calling companies and talking to recruiters you better ask them what their felony requirements are.How long ago did you get released from prison?

I wish you good luck man....I have had some great friends over my life that got in some trouble early on but now are great hard working family men.
Off topic a little...but if and when I ever go to hire a felon driver am I allowed to ask what they were in for? They may not tell the truth but I would feel pretty weird not knowing. -
Have you checked to see if Maryland offers any type of return to work grants or programs? Also research the trucking companies that offer cdl training and talk to them about attending the company school. Don't give up.

You can try Millis Transfer; they sometimes hire felons and ex-cons. You only need $500.00 for tuition. Maybe only need $100.00 up front, but call to be sure. Good company.

You have them sign off on a background check and motor vehicle license check. Then compare results to what was said about work history and criminal history. Easy way to determine if someone is honest about their past if nothing else.
I never checked the "yes" box. Just wrote "will discuss" if anything.Mattflat362 Thanks this. -
I have three felonies on my record, from 2001. It still shows up on my record and I have to explain. I guess it depends on what the felonies were, when they were and whether you did time or not. I rarely have an issue though.
