Decent advice there: generally each state has different rules on the books regarding removal of a conviction. Where I live you can only get something expunged (cleared from public record) if you were underage at the time of the incident. Any other incidents you apply to a board of pardons, which meets 2 times a year, takes apporximately a year to get your request seen by the board.....and according to public record most who apply are denied.

It is worth checking into OP. The longer the amount of time has passed since your conviction the better the chances of having it thrown out.

OP it can be done: it will take some doing. I have done it.

Find a a smaller outfit than what you have looked into, meet and get to know the folks who run it. Show them who you are as a man, and that the man you are isn't the boy you were. You're a changed man and would be an asset to their organization. Get reference letters from prior employers who were willing to give you a chance. That is the way I went about it. Takes a lot for someone to stick their neck out and give a chance to someone with a criminal background, acknowledge it when it's done for you.

Hey buddy, get your on authority, then nobody cares about your record. It takes a little time, but just keep working where you are until you get it done. By your rig and go to work. I am a convicted felon, and it has not been a issue. I remember the day when most every truck driver, construction worker etc, were felons. Hold your head high, most fold couldn't survive what you been through!
