    Check with your local vocational rehab center if you are in SC.

    @karolinaboy
    I was in pretty much the same position. None of the so-called starter companies would even touch me at the time my felony was about four years old the only one that would touch me was Carolina Cargo. As far as the company as you can see it's only $.10 a mile and it's team driving. I put up with hell there. They hire anyone. As long as u can turn the key. And I know of a few ppl who were made trainers. After only one month. CRAZY

    Yes, Carolina Cargo will hire you. They're in Rock Hill,SC and you must be a cdl school graduate since they don't have their own cdl school.
    WIAO program already mentioned and there's also Goodwill Industries. Goodwill has a website for cdl school and they pay for it if funds are available. You aren't required to work for Goodwill; you can go to any company that will hire you.

    Plenty of local garbage companies or dump truck companies would hire you without the blink of an eye. I know many felons locally and they all truckers. Your problem is that you have no cdl experience and you have points on your license. That's an expensive problem in the eyes of the insurance companies that insure local haulers. I think the only way you can get into trucking is getting into a cdl school and getting hired by a long haul company which is probably what you looking to do anyway.

    The plus side of long haul is that OP can live in the truck and won't need to pay for an apartment.

    that's probably the best option for the guy. The hard thing for him to do is to probably stay away from the drugs. My buddy who is a felon trucker bought another truck before the beginning of the summer for his felon son who was just released at the time. HEs been locked away for years. Got a good job hauling locally for the old man and just got popped again by the cops trying to buy and is now on his way back to the big house. Not judging this guy but i know its hard to stay away from the game once you in it.
