I understand.I was convicted of aggravated assualt and armed robbery when I was 14 years of age in 1997.I have tried on several occasions to go to trucking schools which I went to tdi in tupelo,ms but was dismissed two times saying they could not find me employement.I passed all my tests, and recieved my classa permit,I even found my own job with transport america, but the school still rufused to train me because they could not get me a job inside their network.I can not find a company that will hire me,and I was wondering if anyone knew of a company that has their own school and that will hire a person with my background.I was 14 years old but I cant find no one that can understand my background.

Hey Sunzee, I would say to be up front and honest with them. Your felony is over 10 yrs old according to your post. Several companies that I have looked at say that the felony has to be anywhere from 5-10 years old for them to concider hiring you. I would contact the companies that offer schooling, that away they will know everything before you commit to them for the schooling, but you have to tell them EVERYTHING. Good luck.

Hello all, I was hoping that this weekend I would of gotten a few more post from drivers on what I should do or who I should contact. I am hoping by posting again it will move the Thread more to the top of the page. Thanks for any help or advice.

Be honest... If you omit the information from the application, they'll drop you like a hot potato when they find out. One of the worst things you can do is lie on your application.

I not going to lie on my application. But that is the point, how do I address the question. I have talked with officer that runs the community service, and is a 20 veteran officer. She has been doing community service for the past 14 years and also does all of the warrants in her county. She tells me that with my deferred adjudication, that I do not have a coviction and I also do not have any charges pending. That once I am done with my community service and probation, the ONLY thing that will be on my record is the arrest. I will not lie on my application, but how do I make sure what the trucking companies need to know and what should be left off.
Once again, I would like to be up front with the company, but I need a company that will look at each application individually and not just put it in the pile of felony/no-hires. does anyone know of a company that does this? Thanks for any help.
