Well, you'll have to work about 100 times as hard as someone without your challenge. Even one bit of trouble with alcohol after you have a CDL, and you're probably going to be cooked for good as a professional driver.

I'd try the smaller outfits on the job part. Understand that the training carriers won't touch you, so you'll have to put up your money for driving school tuition. Make sure you talk to them about it too - maybe they can help you find someone willing to take a chance on you.

Yes, we did beat up on the poor guy, didn't we? But "lynch mob"? I don't think so.
We are a collective of people who are fiercly independent and speak our minds individually. Each one of us has an opinion on drugs and felonies and driving a big rigs. Most, if not all of us, disaprove. Period.

One thing I will say about CDG1984, at least he was honest and forthcoming about his past. Hope he learns and is able to move on.

I got a buddy that got his 4th DUI about 5 years ago....best #### thing that ever happened to him. How he only managed 4 is beyond me when he drove drunk as a skunk every night for 10 years straight. That felony charge along with his other criminal record finally sobered him up. Decent guy, made a lot of bad choices in his life and I love him like a brother but there is NO WAY in heck I would want him driving a truck down the road on the day he decided to relapse.

So we can look forward to in about 6 months a post from you:

Have my class A and no one will hire me what should I do?

Gotta love people that ask for advice and then don't listen.

There is a member on here that has had 3 DUI,

he went to truck driving school in florida.

He interviewed, and was hired at Wiley Sanders Truck Lines.

You WILL need to sell yourself, but it is possible.

alot of self righteous people in here!:biggrin_25516: Cripes all the crap I did back in my 20's and LIVED!!!!!!! Drove under the influence of more than alcohol, lol, (weird to see the road roll up behind your motorcycle). My advantage was I never got caught, only difference. Now I only drink a few,(or so), on Sat when I'm home.

There are companies that hire ppl with lousy records. Can't help as to who ,but good luck.

    rodknocker Thanks this.

Many long time truckers and office personnel could tell that story but most won't.
