Why does everyone think they are owed a 2nd chance? Why not just know right from wrong? Most of us know it and will never have a problem like this. If you screwed up then its YOUR fault, nobody elses. Take responsibility and live with the consequences. If you are not allowed to drive a truck because of a felony then so be it. Those of us who know right from wrong can drive a truck because we were not stupid enough to put ourselves in such a position. Does nobody ever think of their future anymore? Instead they think they are owed a 2nd chance?? What a crock of ####...

What about misdemeanors? where do you draw the line?
-
I draw the line at people who know right from wrong, there is no variance there is there? You screw up, you pay the consequences - plain n simple. Whats that, you didnt think of what might happen if you wanted to be a truck driver? Well guess what, to bad, that is part of the consequence. I dont support bad behaviour, so I would NEVER hire anyone with any type of police history unless its good of course.

like u have never ever screwed up or made poor choices/decisions in life when u were young & thought u knew everything. just remember; there are laws against discrimination & using someone's past or like u say police record against them can bring a very bad lawsuit against u for such. God gave more than just a 2nd chance to us; why couldn't u do the same as well?54Trucker Thanks this.

What about the employer? should we as drivers ask a potential employer if he has a record? and how far back should we go?
-
It is not all the same and shouldn't be looked at like it was.
I have a good friend who is a convicted felon and labeled a sexual predator. He had consensual sex with a 16 year old girl who looked like an adult AND had a fake ID. Even the girl's mom was outraged at how the courts treated him, but she had no say in the matter.
Should he be allowed to get a job teaching teenage girls? Of course not. Driving a truck? I fail to see why not. -
If hes gonna do underage girls with a fake ID n not think about the what if's then no, truck driving is probably not a good profession for em either as we already have enough bad apples out here supporting the lot lizzard problem...

Thats all we need is another crazy...
Chinatown Thanks this. -
What "what ifs"? I don't think you understand what I said. What's the "what if?" What if she's lying???? He believed he was old enough to consent and he was just a few years older than her....Chinatown Thanks this.

How would he know she is underage if she has a fake ID.? I was in a place in Nashville one time and saw a girl in a night club and I know her parents. She was 16 and had an ID showing she is 21. She looks 21 when she dresses the part. I confronted her about it to, but of course she could not care less. Her parents said, "well, she is just out of control." Fake ID's are big business for high school girls that like to hit the night clubs with the older guys.Gitana Thanks this.
