I used to guide. If a guy wanted a deer, I would tell him we’ll make every effort to find, and get his crosshairs on what he was looking for. No guarantees.

If a guy wanted a hog, I would ask him “how many?”

    And guarantee it...

Don't some farmers pay for that service?

Had a few that did up here. Wasn't much but after selling the meat to a butcher it covered ammo & gas

Deer, turkey and other game are indigenous and critical to the local ecosystem (or some smart thing like that). And their reproductive rate would not let them recover their numbers. Limits are necessary in my opinion.

Hogs and exotics (Axis, Fallow, Blackbuck etc. here in Texas) were introduced, so they are not protected game.

Also, hogs breed like rabbits. There is no end in sight. They tear things up and will eat anything. Read an article a few years back that said rattlesnakes have learned not to rattle in some areas because it was a dinner bell to the hogs.

Not sure they have to pay. I have a friend that has a lot of farmers that allow him to use their land to take people on guided hunts with AR’s on tripods with night vision scopes. I don’t think the farmers pay him, but I could be wrong. There’s videos on YouTube.

    Also, helicopter hunts.

    God, I love Texas.

I may or may not be building an AR pistol in .300 Blackout that may or may not be destined to receive a suppressor, dedicated for hog and long pig. Gotta go down to Alabama to hunt with it, tho. Should be plenty of meat to donate...

    TripleSix and dwells40 Thank this.

Sound suppressors are perfectly legal here and in many other states. Not sure about alabama

They are, and legal for hunting. But that's a couple years off.
