They remove it from new trucks they buy so they can sell it.They don't care if you freeze in the winter or bake in the summer. You can be a company driver and have a dog for a small fee,you don't have to lease to get the dog.Leasing is the worst possible idea for a new driver, you will lose everything;stay company driver till you learn the ropes.
We don't know how the school works because my son had the CDL from a private school before he joined Swift.

Whosedog, that's complete BS. None of Swift's truck come with APUs. None. Look at the frame where an APU would be mounted. There are no holes drilled to accommodate an APU. In order for any truck to come from a manufacturer with an APU, it has to be special ordered. Swift won't spend the money, only to pay their mechanics to remove them, leaving holes in the frame.

If a truck comes with a refrigerator, they are removed from company trucks to keep drivers from either ruining them or taking them out themselves and selling them.

Get your facts straight and please, if you're going to make a statement, make sure you understand what you are saying before saying it.

Ask any true O/O who has purchased a new truck whether any truck is offered with an APU as standard equipment.

Well. I just called the recruiter at swift. I was told that my state, New Mexico, isn't eligible for there academy. I would need to be a Phoenix resident to go to that one... One of my old co workers has a son that went to the Phoenix academy a few years back and he lives here to. She told me that New Mexico, Nebraska, Iowa, and Idaho are not eligible for the swift academy. I have to get my CDL before they will hire me. Wtf -_-

Things change in a few years. State requirements might have changed and Swift may not have the staff in Phoenix to keep up with and teach to accommodate those differences.

Does somebody owe you a CDL?

I don't understand Idaho because they have a training center there. You should be able to go to San Antonio, I know another guy from Roswell, NM that just finished.

Well that's what my son's mentor told him,why would he say that if it wasn't true? It didn't make any sense to me when he said it.

Also company drivers can not have a pet unless they had one when Swift canceled the program 3 or 4 years ago.

Wow I wish I could do my 11 and play video games online with my friends..:biggrin_2556: But hmm I never seem to get any sleep as it is and never do I have the time to do this. Some drivers just have it made.. I have internet in my truck on my phone, notebook, got a flat screen tv with DVD and I am just way too busy and tired to use any of them.

Just my luck!!! Also if you are complaining about getting up at 4AM well I got news for ya! There are gonna be times when you drive til late at night and your gonna have to get up at 3AM to back into the dock.

You don't have time for games if your wanting to make a decent paycheck.. Especially @ 26 cents a mile

    inkeper Thanks this.
