For the Owner Operators wishing to pull reefers with FFE, They used to have a coompany that was bought out by FFE that went by the name of Nordic. The main office was in Kansas City. Not sure they still have it or not but the contract was much better than FFE had to offer.

####, I'd better check in myself. I'm supposed to go to orientation on the 28th, but haven't got my final info, bus ticket, etc.

Well just talked with my recruiter...and I was just un-hired. Some new cut-offs were put in place this week due to the number of apps, and I got disqualified due to unemployment time. And it's true...no trucks available anyways.

In todays economic market that is a horrible reason not to hire someone. The job market is repressed right now has been for more than a year. So to tell someone that you can not hire them because they have been unemployed for too long is just plain silly. Just out of curiosity how long have you been unemployed?

Quite often they never give any reson, or they give a wrong reason. Also they may not call you to tell you squat, and leave you hanging!!

Unfortunately this comes from insurance companies. They feel if you have any time away from trucking you are a risk. I had problems with that back when I went to get running again after being off work for 9 months because I was in a car accident. It's all people running things in trucking that have no idea what trucking involves.

As far as FFE being full, I would think maybe so. When I turned my truck in I had to do it in Lancaster because they needed it there for orientations. No orientations outside of there I guess. (I went to Chicago back in the day). They had a girl who was set to ride a bus to get an abandoned truck take mine. She was happy she didn't have to go track down a truck. But one guy was going to N.C. to pick one up at a truckstop. These were people coming out of orientation and thats how they were getting trucks.

Insurance companies don't like you to be away from trucking for very long if you've already been driving. But I'm a new driver, fresh out of school less than a month. But the new unemployment policy for anybody, as well as some other policies they just enacted, are merely to cut down the hiring class size without appearing arbitrary and opening themselves up for discrimination lawsuits. That's just what I gathered in my chat with them. Oh well, back to square 1...along with thousands of others.

I've been unemployed for 10 months now. Funny thing is, I wanted to jump into trucking immediately when I was laid off, but waited for the stimulus money to trickle down to my county so that I could have school paid for.

So now it is are you willing to drive team. I guess there is still no orientation. Oh well back to square one may have to settle with a really bad company as bills need to be paid!
