I get thorns sometimes, but mostly roses. I worked my behind off for it. You never know how how much you love each other till your 2,500 miles from home and you can't leave. She died of cancer in 2005. I bought the last new truck I will ever own in 2007.

I was lucky, had my wife with me. If you go off to drive one of these things and leave your wife behind your the biggest fool on earth. No amount of money can measure up to a hug. Trucking is for single people, or others that don't like to be loved. I understand. Tramp

Load just in pays 3.96 per mile. No back haul. Houston to Dallas. 1797.84 gross. Sounds good don't it. After fees, taxes fuel, ect, the truck pays me 197.13 for my skill. Don't let big numbers fool you! That's why most new drivers go broke. Then they sell your truck to the next one.

Pass on FFE's LP. It's not worth it to have a 2.5 year lease and THEN a $45000 balloon on a 2010 Freightliner. That 2010 is only worth $45000 NOW, and that's in immaculate condition, which a fair few of them are not. Looked into it, talked to my terminal manager and someone in TX briefly before deciding to pass. Oh, and the Cascadias/Prostars have suspension dumps...it's only the Columbia's that don't (but they have that hare-brained extra switch you have to hold down to start the truck).
