The new volvos have battery hvac system, Im told its very comfortable.
The internationals have opti idle, the truck starts and shuts off on its own via a thermostat. It sucks, cant sleep, and before the engine starts a #### buzzer wakes you up.
the new cascadias have a heater that runs of the battery and fuel, works great, however for a/c it starts and stops the engine. kinda blows but you are forced to deal with it.

Punctuation man, its a useful thing...and would probably help you get your questions understood or answered. Yes, even on cell phones...punctuation still exists. -
Okay, no bs. Here is good, there im thinking about it. I know all the stories, I could give a few; well, alot. I drove for USA Truck, 'nuff said. I know somewhat new drivers are put through hell. Anywhere you go that you're new, they got you. They will run you into the ground, you will stay or go, there is 200 others barking at your heels for the same spot your at. So, you have to deal with it but honestly my main concern is not the running. Not the same ole complaints as everywhere you go. My question, NOW HONEST HERE, do you get the miles? Do you get the pay as promised? I have bills and family to feed just like everyone else. Im looking for truth in that area. I know all the other complaints remember, I worked at USA Truck. If you can work there you can handle anything, trust me.
I believe sir, that this is what you meant to say. I'm not merely being an ### today, I simply couldn't read your post without taking 10 minutes to decipher the sentence structure.
1. Yes, new drivers are put through hell. Everyone knows this and should be willing to take it on in order to EARN a better position/pay. Its called work ethic + low-man on totem pole.
2. FFE is like every other company. If you read through the New FFE Driving Academy thread, you will see responses from drivers that made it and are now burning up the road. Some get great miles and on-time pay, others struggle to break 1,000/wk and have slow pay schedules.
Please dont take my replies as disrespect, I am just trying to help everyone else understand your questions. And yes, I know that I am not a representative of the company, but I have read every single page of each 'FFE' thread and feel relatively informed on their process and benefits; and because of this, I will be starting their school on Jan. 3rd.
Good luck to you and your decisions to re-enter the trucking industry.Last edited: Dec 19, 2011

what bothers me is FFE and STEVENS keep you out 4 weeks at a pop, that will burn you out fast
-
Good thing about FFE is, you can choose what division you want to work in. Now you have to proove yourself first.
Truckload. out 2 weeks min. .29 to start max 5 days off.
ltl rover. out 2 weeks min. 31 to start $25 per stop.
ltl dedacated. same but your on set runs and know when your going home.
ltl regional. .35 mile $30 per stop and you get home every weekend for the most part.
ltl, truckload. $18 +/- an hour and home every night.
there are other positions, linehaul dedacated and a few others but its harder to get in there.
YOU dont HAVE to run 48 state for 6 weeks if you dont want to.Bandaid and biker dave Thank this. -
(i can deal with 2 to 3 weeks) thanks, they just move from the 2nd pick to first pick and longer runs per trip, i was hoping for 3 weeks or less
