I know that DH= dead head but what does BT mean? Also, I don't mean to be a bother but what is your average weekly run? I'd like to know so that I can see about what I'll be making at .24 a mile. Thanks biscuit and lonewolf. I appreciate all this. I'm sorry that I'm slamming you with so many questions I just would like to know what I'm gettin into.

HEY GILBERT... I ALSO AM STARTING WITH FFE AFTER THE HOLIDAYS.. I HAVE EXPERIENCE, BUT HAVEN'T DROVE IN 5 YEARS. WILL BE GOING TO PINE BLUFF FOR A REFRESHER COURSE. iF YOUR TRYING TO FIGURE OUT APROX HOW MUCH YOU WILL BE MAKING.. I WOULD FIGURE IT OUT PER MONTH, CAUSE THERE WILL BE WEEKS WHEN YOU DONT GET YOUR TRIP PAK IN ON TIME , BUT IT WILL BE ON THE FOLLOWING WEEKS CHECK. OR YOUR LAST RUN OF THE WEEK WILL DELIVER THE DAY OF OR THE DAY AFTER YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR TRIP PAKS IN. AND THINK OF IT THIS WAY IF THEY HAVE TWO DRIVERS IN THE SAME AREA, ONE MAKES 35 CPM AND YOU WHO MAKES 25 CPM , WHO IS GOING TO GET THE LONGER RUN ?? YOU WILL GET MILES CAUSE YOU ARE AT A LOWER CPM. (IF THERE IS MILES TO GIVE) DUDE IT IS A BIG JUMP TO MAKE , BUT TLIKE BISCUIT SAID YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR DUES IN. AND I BELIEVE IT IS A PRETTY GOOD TIME TO GET INTO THE INDUSTRY RIGHT NOW WITH THE CSA 2010 COMING OUT. ALOT OF THE OUTLAW/ UNSAFE DRIVERS , WONT BE HERE MUCH LONGER. AND THERE IS GOING TO BE A DEMAND FOR DRIVERS AGAIN.( IMO) WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GO IF YOU GO TO PINE BLUFF? I AM LOOKING TO GO THE SECOND MONDAY OF JANUARY. GOOD LUCK TO YOU GILBERT, MAYBE I'LL SEE YA THERE..

BT= bobtail and my farthest yet running this way was a little over 250 miles.

Gilbert SSM is right with your average pay you're better off trying to figure months rather than weeks. Like I said I have some nice weeks where it's 6-900 paychecks because of when loads deliver, or when payroll gets paperwork (even with transflow there are occasionally errors or delays). Also 9/10 the week you can go home you expect a relatively ####ey payweek, but the next week may be a nice run.

May also want to leave the dog at home for awhile gilbert. I know 1 cent a mile ant much, but if you think of it in a month span at an average of 25000 miles a week, thats $100... not much , but if things are going to be tough for awhile for you and your family, then it's alot.... Have you ever been away from your wife and kids for a long period of time? It's not easy brother. That wahy i got off the road 5 years ago... Butit didnt make a difference, cause I'm devorced now LOL ! Should of stayed out there and maybe I'd still be married :biggrin_2559: . NOT !!! Serously thou, Its a big step especially when you have a family. Not trying to discourage you in any way, But you need to think long and hard about it. It is truely a life style change, not just a carreer. and it is really tough on a family man. :biggrin_25524:

Hmm I have yet to have trouble with claiming layover, The "loss" they experienced was the same as other carriers and industries which post a loss. That is to say that they set a goal for what they WANT to make, and if it's short of that mark it's a loss.

I also firmly believer that the intelligence of the poster can be a contributing factor for the amount of credence they are given. Typing a full message in all caps with simple typos does tend to reduce attention given.
