    Yup... Long story short...

I was a passenger in a car when a friend wrapped us around a tree. I had to be cut out of the car and spent 4 days in the hospital having my arm put back together. No lifting. Doc said off 4-6 months. Gas hauling company says cool, keep us in touch. Then a couple months later they laid me off. I get better, call them back, they say they are slow and can't take me back. This goes on a few months. I try other gas gigs and same thing.
    Viola... I'm back OTR.

BTW, Raezzor, I'm not married. :biggrin_25522:

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully better luck will cross your future path. BTW how is FFE treating you in general? I applied to them last summer but their HR people took two weeks to process my application so I went elsewhere. How much are they paying you per mile? How many miles a week you run?

Treating me pretty good so far. Did nearly 4000 dispatched miles last week, took 34 restart then on Friday headed for an 1800 mile weekend. It's Sunday night and I am sitting at home, doing laundry, watching TV for a few hours before I head to St. Louis for tomorrow by noon.

For 12 years experience they started me at .35cpm. I talked to everyone when I was looking for a job and that's about average for what these companies are offering for experience. Some pay more, some pay less. But I also needed a company I could take Jake with me.

Sorry to hear that but I'd keep trying. Don't let your tanker experience go to waste. I'd never haul anything but gas and I sure wouldn't go OTR again. I'd starve. You know the old saying the more money you make the more you spend. Wells it's true and OTR couldn't make my house payment.

Don't worry about the gears and look at companies for the right reasons. The more transmissions you get checked out on the better driver you will be. I go along with passingthru, you should be required to use a 5X4 or any of those.

I know, we are just being wise #####. But you should not worry about what type of equipment you'll get and learn from everything you can.
