So today I dropped off a trailer no issues went to pickup a different one and it wouldn't lock on. Slammed into it couple of times still would not lock, manually lifted the handle and beat on it with a hammer it locked manually but I didn't feel like risking lives so I dropped it and went home.

When I got back to the yard I discovered two things, a broken spring a big metal piece was barely hanging on under the fifth wheel on the driver side.

Also it appears to be crooked and/ or lopsided but when underneath a trailer it is level and straight?

Hoping for some feedback on what to do on whether I should replace or repair thank you all in advance.

    The truck is a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia 20241202_164204.jpg 20241202_163908.jpg 20241202_163901.jpg

I would replace it. Eliminate the risk.

I have rebuilt several in the past, but when it gets as bad as yours it's time to replace it. Get a jost, they are ok and the lest expensive.

Rocker Pin is broke. Do not use. Typical Jost failure from slamming into king pins to lock them useless things.

It shouldn’t but it happens with jost a lot. Cheap made fleet spec wheels with a short life expectancy. Drop and hook stress of lifting a trailer 3 to 4 inches off the ground and slamming into the kingpins take there toll. Used to be those pins had grease zerks on them. Last forever. They were 1-1/8 dia. hard steel.
