You've seen that happen before it sounds?
Glad you got it going. What exactly did you find? Broken pin, or bushings completely gone? I feel like I've seen quite a bit, and I've never seen that.

Used for something like that don’t seem like a good idea. Semi important

Get rid of that thing before it ruins your life!
FWIW Fontaines are the least headache to operate. Just pull the handle straight out and it locks itself. And I rarely have to back up to get it to release. Hollands are the most rugged, but it's annoying having to set the handle by hooking it above the slot. I'd get grease on my sleeve every now and then. And I was always having to back up against it to get it to release. I've had all three. I just recently replaced a Jost with a Fontaine. The slider pins would release but wouldn't reengage unless I banged them in with a hammer. I replaced both the top plate and the slider. It was about $2K. -
I didn't bother looking i honestly would have no idea what to even look for my priority was getting back to work asap.

True, but I landed a local contracting gig for ups making 1k per day so my priority was to get back to work asap.

Already did replaced it with a used holland would've preferred new but time is money.
