That all have an adjustment on them I think? Mine is a nut on a threaded rod sticking out the front of the 5th wheel. With only 400k I'm hoping it's just out of adjustment. The slide not working is a separate problem.

My advice is take them to the shop with a trailer on and watch them do the adjustment and free up the slide so you know what to do in the future.

Could just be an adjustment I guess, but on the other hand I got hosed pretty hard on this truck; found out after I bought it that it'd been in a major wreck and slapped back together by a Western Express grease monkey who could not possibly have cared less. Luckily my cost of living is nearly zero, so I can afford to learn on the fly and think of it as inexpensive higher education. Good advice though. I'll definitely follow thru on that. But if someone can follow up with some input on the bigger jobs I mentioned, that would come in handy for future reference regardless of the short term prognosis.

4 out of the 5 trucks I have owned have had Holland's, although one I think wasn't fw35. The best thing about them? Nobody is coming by and pulling your fifth wheel!

Maybe newer ones are, but all of mine were 96 or earlier, and although there is no trick to doing it, to reach under and pull takes a lot of effort. Not something that some jerk can just reach in there and pull it.

I love them. But i pull the same trailer 99% of the time. But by greaseless i mean just the plate. No way do i want greaseless saddle pins.

Just ordered a new complete outboard mount no tilt convertible jost. 24 inch slide travel. $1595. New slider, plate, the whole nine yards. Let you know what I think when I get it in and installed

Where'd you order this from? I'm looking for one now with little luck. My truck came with a fontaine no tilt when built but someone swapped it out at some point. It's $3000 to replace....
