Fifth Wheel slide question

    I gotta second S&L , good luck. If you can run the toll road, then you should be alright, won't see any coops till the WI line.

    BTW, you did try and slide the fifth wheel BACK, right? If you are heavy on your drives, sliding the 5th wheel back (increasing the gap between the tractor and trailer) will lighten up your drives and steers.

    The rule I was taught:
    To lighten an axle, slide the load AWAY from it. To heavy one up, slide the load TOWARDS it.

    I hope all went well for you. Did I understand you to say your tandoms were all the way forward, not to the rear of the trailer? If so you really were screwed. Do you by chance also have guage on your dash, that will help you with the distrubution, Judjment of the distribution. I know on a International I had one, and it helped me a lot. I knew when they loaded me I was screwed at times, then would slide my tandoms forward and go from there. Take care, Bob
