Actually that is an excellent idea!
I adopted my oldest daughter's 2nd grade class and wrote them once a week. They would write me back every other week.
If I cane across something different or unusual in my travels, I would send it to class. I sent raw cotton right out of the fields (most city kids never see that!), a big blob of glass from a recycling plant, even sent a set of Canadian coins for every student in the class.(That was expensive, but worth it!)my daughter was the coolest kid in her class as she was my courier.
The teacher and kids wanted to know what to call me as my last name seemed too formal for me. That was when I came up with the handle "Trucker Dave".
That 2nd grader is now 21 and still remembers those times. I kept the kids' letters to me and to this day the school and administrators still call me "Trucker Dave".

Pretty sick man. Guess you can forget about this thread now. :D

You can think about going otr in 14 years after your wife tells you she wants a divorce because she found out what the postman really has in his bags.

    Grats again!

    Diesel Dave Thanks this.

Drivers adjust being away from home, but if you got kids, they are gonna grow up fast, and someday you may regret missing out on so much. Some otr drivers end up getting divorced. There is a price to be paid for staying out on the road. You got to comfortable being alone (loner) to be happy out here for weeks at a time. I like to get home every 2 weeks, see the wifey and family, then after 3 days Im ready to hit the road.

when Im out here I can't wait to get home, and when I m home, I can't wait to get back on the road. :yes2557:
