When I was there, the hardest thing we had to do was lift the tarp to deck height unassisted, and in a way the instructor felt was not injury prone. Other than that, the agility test is climbing to the top of a stack of containers and walking to the edge to demonstrate you aren't afraid of heights.

In practice, neither of those is terribly important. It is protocol at most places that the driver is not allowed on their trailer. Even in places that's allowed, the forklift driver will usually offer to set them on top of the load for you. Other places have a whole tarping setup where they unroll them and place them for you (or you drive the crane yourself with a remote control) and all you have to do is bunjee it

The test starts with everyone standing on one foot for 30 or 60 seconds(I forgot exact time)then switching to other foot.i don't know for sure but I think it checks for vertigo.they don't want you losing balance and falling off load.everyone passed.couple people put foot down but brought it back up.dude next to me was hopping about and I saw him out of corner of my eye and made me start wavering..then they had us lift a tarp from ground to trailer deck using proper form.it was kind of awkward for me,I am 6 ft 2 and used to manhandling stuff, not use to lifting correctly.everyone passed this also.if you have doubts ,go to home Depot and try lifting concrete bag to first pallet rack shelf.should be a good indicator.last test was climbing onto trailer using bumper.the trailer has 3 boxes stacked in step formation.you have to climb up them and then touch top of con x box sitting on trailer.everyone completed and passed.we had 1 round guy and a real short guy 5 ft? And they did it.i don't think any of it was hard.there was nor heart rate monitors involve

Thank you.i didn't write this to troll for referall bonuses but it is appreciated.like I said in first post I checked out companies and schools for about 2 years before I got to this point.and there seemed to be a shortage of info on melton.as I said before I don't mean to sound like a fanboy but Melton checked all the boxes for me.i am sure some with more exp will scoff but for me it's a good fit at this time.hopefully I won't have to take off rose colored glasses anytime soon

Yea I know man you didn’t ask for referrals but in the end either someone gets it or they don’t and in this situation you have been clear about the process in orientation etc so those were questions I had from an unbiased person and got them. Appreciated.

Honestly man after trucking for 12 years to date I can tell you that every company has its good and bad some more some less. In the end you stay where you get paid well where the system works with you not against you and honestly where you’re happy. If it’s me and I’m getting into a new field like flatbeddint from van and reefer I’m not going to expect anything spectacular for the first 6 months while I get the system down. Then in following 6 months I’d just my pay and runs to decide if it works or doesn’t.

Just realized I forgot exciting news for me.am on my first oversized load.its only 10 ft 4 wide but it still needs permits flags and banners.lpicked it up in Iowa yesterday and headed to texas.while driving today a real oversized came up behind me.hisflag vehicle was in front of me for a bit so I got to pretend it was mine (in my mind)not gonna lie,had a little butt pucker going on while passing the vans.just pictured slicing the sides open like a can opener
