Everything everybody else has said is very good advise. Make sure you keep up with the logbook and paperwork, it gets difficult if you don't do it and have to backtrack to make it right. The percentage pay is great but just remember that it can make your paycheck vary drastically from check to check if he isn't doing the same run or gets paid by tonnage.
Finally found someone too give me a chance!!!

Good Luck and remember "YOU MAKE YOUR OWN SAFETY" ... don't rely upon anybody else to do it for you ... in the end, it's a one man dog and pony show.

Just take it easy. Try to relax and let the jidjuts race and do the stupid stuff.
Easier to stay out of trouble than get out out trouble!
Good luck!

I try to wash my truck every week, we do get a wash bonus, and every morning I dust off the hood, fenders, and doors to keep it looking decent. The plant we haul out of is really dusty and knocking the dust off every morning keeps the build up down. Oh, the the windshield gets a daily cleaning too. I hate a crappy bugged up windshield.
