Excellent. Excellent work! Your now part of the 1%’r group of people who have not gone out of business and also paid off their truck. lol
I’ve got a 2015 Great Dane van. I paid cash for it in the summer of 2018 back when trucking was good.
Now you’re eligible to join the secret organization. If you’ll just send me all your banking info I’ll get you signed up today.
The truck you see on the left I purchased new in March of 2000. Approaching 2 million miles, paid for since September of 2006. No payments for 14 years and counting. I had NO idea I would be driving the same truck 20 years later. I was told it was a plastic truck designed to be junked in 10 years. Wrong. You bought yours new. That is a huge advantage. If you are a mechanic, and/or know a good shop you can crawl around under it routinely to keep things where they belong. There is no reason you cannot duplicate my record. Congratulations.
Thanks for that @Studebaker Hawk! That’s the plan. I have no interest in another truck. Being newer and Volvo I do have to rely on the dealer for some diagnostic work but I do everything I can myself. Everyone loves and hates certain trucks but they’re all the same in most ways. They are all machines that break and need upkeep. This has been the most reliable truck I’ve ever driven. 2 year maintenance has come in right at $12k per year or an even grand a month. That’s ALL maintenance, and she’s never left me on the side of the road.
Did u have anything major done to it , or is that just general upkeep ? That seems to be a reasonable price for maintenance
Way to go, now go crazy and horde that $ back for the time you need it. And may every month from now own, only cost you that Grand per month also. Time to run and enjoy running now. Not having to make that Payment each month.
