Well I had I nice post going until I just lost everything I had written:biggrin_25510:, so f&%# it, Its been a long two days, lots of drama but I finally got what I came here for.
All four of us passed our CDL tests today :occasion5:. Our training prepared us very well and both test were very easy compared to the school exams. I must thank my instructor for giving me a little slack on that last turn :biggrin_25524:, made it by inches, but hey...... a pass is a pass in my book:biggrin_25525:.

So it's a wrap. Stoked to start convoy phase next week. Now that I'm home it's finally Milller time, later!

Only have two days of school this week:biggrin_2553:. Today was spent practicing with the Big Boy Rigs. Took our couple and un-couple tests this morning then practiced parking and set ups with the new rigs. Once I figure how to post pics I'll post them. The road trucks are in excellent shape.

Afternoon we went over logs and how to use the monthly summary then watched a few movies. One of the instructors was a bit sick today so don't know if we'll make out on the road tomorrow for the first convoy:biggrin_2554:. I have a bug too, daughter has strep so keeping my fingers crossed I don't have it. Anyway, wouldn't break my heart to call it a day so I can get home and beat this bug.

Plan on taking Hazmat and Tanker endorsement Wed morning and then start filling out apps. :biggrin_25519:

Little late with the post but Tuesday was really ccol. We did our first road trip with the real trucks. I got to drive the KW T-800 with a flatbed. Truck is an 05 with a Cummins 10spd and is in immaculate condition. What a difference from driving the range trucks!:biggrin_255:

The next three weeks will be spent on the road till we complete our 1000 miles. Went to DMV yesterday and got my CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements. Just a good feeling to have it finally in my wallet.

Now to find a job. Just finished applying to Windy Hill, hope Donna calls back if not I will call her.:yes2557: Found out my friend from the previous class just got hired so thats a good sign.

Time to enjoy the weekend and catch up on some baseball, go Rays!!!!

    123456 Thanks this.

Yes, GO RAYS!! And Congrats on obtaining that CDL! Is Con-way not hiring down your way? I would suggest you spend a couple hours from say 9-11pm at a truck stop and take good notes as to how Drivers have to park. You won't learn in school what is required at the truck stops. You basically have to jack-knife your trailer into a hole with the tandems pivoting in place if you get a truck with a good turning radius. I hope you don't get a KW T600 like I have with a poor turning radius. Truck stops vary but alot of them were not designed for 72' rigs.

Roger that on the parking, here's the KW we were driving Tuesday.

and here's the rest of the line up. We park them just like at a truck stop except a bit more room on the sides (were noobs after all), but I know we will be pulling in to trucks stops on our road trips so I'll take any experience I can get.

Here's a few more pics of the Road team.

Windy Hill is 20 minutes from the school and if I can get my first face to face interview with someone that close and who hires grads out of my school I'm there. As far as safety scores at this point in the game I will just have to feel a company out. Some of these big companies might have some nice numbers but I already did 10yrs in the Navy and don't really like just being a number. Not saying its good or bad but thats just me.
