Let me start saying its been a rough roller coaster ride for me. I been trying too get a trucking job since 2013 and no one wanted too hire me due too bad bakground and mvr. Its hard too keep a clean mvr in NYC being a taxi driver. I was getting frustrated because every company kept saying no left and right. I ended giving up on trying too become a trucker and let my CDL permit expire. Three years later i decided too give it a chance again. I got my permit ended paying for a school my self got my cdl. Now thinking i got my cdl on my own i though i was going too get hire with bad mvr and background. Well again every company kept saying no or telling me i need experience. I was getting frustrated again. I was applying every where everyday. I could say i called over 100+ company and all kept saying no. Well 5 days ago i was on craiglist like always looking for jobs. I came across a post saying need driver team or solo from NJ to CA back and forth. Well i txted the number because i was tired hearing the word SORRY we cant hire you. Well this guy called me and ask if i had experience i said not alot but on weekend i help my friend drive a 9 car hauler. He was like ok when can we go too CA on a trip. I though the guy was joking or playing with me i couldnt believe it. I told him ASAP. Well we got loaded in NJ to deliver to CA. I was nervous at the begining i never drove for that long distance. I didnt know how too float gears , i do know how too drive manual due too my car. We start driving and let me tell you i wasnt shift too good but the guy was being patient and helped me. Now we on a 3000 mile trip and i drove in the day and him in the night. I love the driving and the view an couldnt be any happier. We got too california we got weighted on i80 entering CA. And wow i was nervous going down the mountain never ever experience that. I didnt back down and started going down the hill on low gear and not using too much brakes it was a challenge for me but didnt give up. Now we getting off loaded and heading too pick up a load going to hunts point i cnt wait too start driving. I thanx god and thetruckersreport for all the informations in this website. I finally got a job and i priciate the opportunity the O/P gave me. Now i just need too drive and learn more. Never give up and stay positive it was a hard challenge getting a trucking job. But everything has it time like they say.

That's awesum and I wish you the very best,just make sure to keep track of how many miles you drive so you get paid for all of them.

Today been a crazy day we had two stop in california tracy one by safeway warehouse an the other pacific fresh food. Its been a challenge but i love it had a tight spot by pacific fresh food but i didnt give up and backed the trailer too the dock. After that i had too drive too selinas CA nice view but wat a bumpy ride. The load was ready an waiting for us by nuñes 950 boxes of lettuce going straight too the bronx. Let me tell you truck is not like in excelent condition but rides #### good with 70K. The only bad thing CA is 55mph and the cars driver insane. I was nervous coming into the downgrade due too the heavy hall not used too it but it wasnt bad low gear , jake brake and dont let rpm get too high . Other trucker look at me kinda weird im taking my sweet time down the hill well im not trying too end up on the ditch and lose my job or life . I do stay on the slow lane . And my trainer is polish guy is helarious and cool doesnt under estimates me. I could say the only job i will love for ever is this one due too the challegen of getting a trucking job

Ignore the other drivers; the last thing you need right now is a traffic ticket. Let the super trucker cowboys get the tickets. They'll laugh at you if they see a trooper pull you over.

Yes you can float gears and double clutch in a car! My older brothers made sure I could do that in a 1960 Ford, with a 3 speed on the column. If I couldn't I'd get a beating
