1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I appreciate the advice. I'm what you would call a "family man" and love my family dearly. The reason I'm that way is because I didn't have much of a family life when I was younger. That's another story so I'll leave it be. Once again, thanks for the advice and be safe out there.

I agree with you on that. Those are top level companies. They would like you to have OTR experience. When the phrase "stepping stone" was used I was thinking more along the lines of Crete, Celedon, Watkins Shepard, or Roehl. You know basic OTR companies that are more reputable then CRE or SWIFT. If he was to get on with one of these carriers that would then be a stepping stone up into the top notch level companies you listed.
You see, we are both in agreement we just had to talk it out!:occasion5:

With a wife and 2 kids, one on the way, local, would be my choice. I would use this experience, and if you so choose, move on to a company that would pay you more. There are a lot of local carriers that will start you off at 50k+ per year. As far as you causing a "stink" in the forum, there was no such thing. Someone already said it best, its just a difference in opinion and viewpoints. I wish you the best in your career choices and health to you and your family.

By the way, when Dem Boys, come down to Da' Dome we got sumfin fo ya! :smt068

Maybe because they don't want to do the same thing, in the same area, day after day? Some people like being in different areas of the country on different days. Everbody has different desires. It's what makes life interesting.
