some states are now passing laws to prohibit employers from having these employee rules
-
What they don't know wont hurt them. Its not show and tell, keep it concealed, and keep it the element of surprise if you ever need it. I have mine on me ALWAYS. Except gov buildings and schools.
northstarfire0693 Thanks this. -
even at street prices they couldnt afford them
-
LOL. Excuse me if I don't bow to your superiority complex. But, yeah - I have a clue, alright...
I have a clue that - by your own admission - you've been a nanny-state type of management-class office worker who believes that law enforcement will always be there to take care of you.
I have a clue that you would be perfectly content with the Second Amendment being replaced with something that reads:
"...the right to dial 911 on your cell phone and wait for already-overburdened law enforcement to get there to help you shall not be infringed."
I have a clue that since you feel it necessary to boast about having been "in management and making real good money" that you might not have much empathy for the 'lowly' truck stop worker...
The Flying J worker who is desperate to improve her lot in life and who has to leave her public housing in the ghetto before daylight and navigate the gunshots and crackheads on the streets to get her kids to daycare before she drives through even more predators in the slums just to get to her minimum wage job serving truck drivers. She knows that the police in her part of town will almost always be too busy at that time of morning to get there in time to help her and her kids, but that the 9mm her daddy gave her will ALWAYS be there for them.
Or the fuel desk cashier at the Pilot who lives in a rural area of Texas and never knows who or what will be in her home when she gets in after her midnight shift. All she knows is that the only deputy on duty is likely to be 45 miles away and that if she needs him, it is quite likely that she will be raped and dead by the time he gets there. But the cheap little .38 that one of her regular drivers lets her 'borrow' gives her the comfort and security that no call to 911 will ever give her.
Those are the types of people who you seem to have no empathy for. People who depend on themselves and who are strong enough to take care of themselves, but who just need the right tool for the job. People who are much safer because they choose to exercise their Constitutional right to bear arms going to and from work.
Any employer who chooses to deprive them of that right doesn't deserve those employees. And that employer certainly doesn't deserve MY money.Big Red and FriedTater Thank this. -
the last two general contractors i worked for had no problems letting me and the other project managers carry a gun in our vehicle as well as keep one in our desk. Sometimes working after hours and by yourself in the office it gave a nice sense of security.
I agree i have a concealed carry permit and im going to carry one in my vehicle whether or not my employer allows it. What they dont know wont hurt them. -
You certainly do not know me at all.
I have no objection to the second amendment.
I also support the constitutional right of the employer who also has the right to decide what he or she wants under the same second amendment right. My rights are no better than the rights of the owner. I am mature enough to respect their right.
I own a firearm. It is a family heirloom from my grandfather who was a police officer. It is not loaded, nor will it ever be.
I have shot weapons.
I do not worry about my safety like the chicken littles of this world.
Like I said, you will not be doing business at very many locations. -
Now wait a minute. I legally carry a weapon in MY vehicle to protect myself, and some law-breaking kid [or adult ] STEALS my car and finds my weapon and I am the bad guy ? I think not. I am not the one breaking the law.Why try to put the blame on the gun owner ?
Getting tired of people taking up for criminals.halfburn, FriedTater, northstarfire0693 and 1 other person Thank this. -
i am not taking up for criminals at all--i just dont want myself or my kids to get shot with your gun
keep it on your person-- if not then it should be kept locked up and secure--not in a glovebox -
In all my cars the glovebox is lockable, and a perfectly legal place to store my weapon. Most of the time, when away from my home, if I feel it the correct thing to do, my gun is on my person. If not, I place it in a locked glovebox. There is more of a chance that I will need it to defend myself, than the chance of someone stealing my vehicle, breaking into the secured glovebox, and using the weapon in an ILLEGAL attack on another person. Concentrate on correcting the criminals, not the law abiding citizen who chooses to protect himself and his family.
