I'm only running about 1500 miles a week. 3 loads and off weekends. Their trailers. Like I said know what you want before you start. Not everybody wants to or needs to live in their truck.

 

I run similar miles and dont live in my truck either really. Drivers just make it too easy for them to pay nothing. No-one lets us buy our groceries or fill the gas tank for half price every week. Not any week.. Too bad there's so many trucks not taking their just piece of the pie.

 

Right......aND its just the way transportation economists, Freight Brokers,Shippers,And mega carriers want it to stay..

See...Owner-operators made it BIG in the 70's...I Mean BIG$$$,, Charging $1.50- $2.00 per mile back in 78' when fuel was 60 cents a gallon..
Guys were making the Same gross income as we do today..

Word gets around that folks want a "Taste" of the Home Cooking too...Hence signing into deregulation, Now,EVERYONE enters the Industry..It Gets bombarded by Brokers and carriers alike./.What Happens next? Rates Plummet

$2.00 per mile in 1979 would equate to $5.00 per mile Today..ALL MILES With inflation and standards of living decent.

But its Not.......We are still tormented with $2.00 per mile Freight Daily..And everything Else has quadrupled......

Makes me wonder why there is so much ANGER everywhere you turn nowadays......Im Not an economic strategist, But Im Not a Dummy either, And I believe achieving the american Dream For the Younger generation is Merely impossible By the way Society has financially structured itself....
