Finding the right driver where and how?

As a hard working, safe driving, honest, dependable truck driver I would expect #### good pay, reliable equipment, good benefits and kept busy. Also reasonable hometime and honesty from my employer. Now that you know what a high caliber driver will expect your local Craigslist or newspaper would be places to put ads. Also talk with local friends to see if they know anyone or check with local repair shops. There are a lot of struggling owner operators that might want the security of a weekly check. Good Luck.

 

I put an ad here for an o/o and got one response in about a month....guy told me the reason I wasn't getting responses was because no one believed it...even though I put in honest gross revenue figures that I'd gotten the past six weeks or so (pay is %). But, he's leasing on when he gets his truck and I suspect he'll be very happy he did. Of the two drivers I have in my trucks, who also are paid on %, one was a friend of a friend, the other one did come from this site, so I suppose it works....but not as well as I would have thought. Still looking for that place that would create more interest. Maybe I will try the local truck stops....can't hurt.

 

Sometimes a manager will visit other companies to offer their drivers what his company has.

Case in point;

Sorrento Lobster and Fish had 12 drivers walk off the job enmasse last summer. A startup company came in and offered any driver that came to work for them 10 days on 3 days off. Alas they must be full as they are no longer advertising.
