Well i am single, so that's kinda plus. And I am planning on being able to pay myself with what I can save plus have something on hand in case of repairs. Any advise on how much to save?

I put the cart before the horse. I made sure I had a cart to pull before I bought a horse.

That's my point. I am not sure if a company will say, we will hire you once you purchase a ticket and pass our inspection. I don't want to buy a truck and then crap now what.

What ever company you decide to work for you better talk to alot of there op because buying a truck is a big big decision to make you could loose everything you own it's really not that big of a return on your investment

It's going to be a huge investment. For me since i am 27. It is a gamble since I come from both sides of this industry, both as a tech and a driver. This is why I am asking all of these questions. I know plenty of people who own their own semis, but they mainly haul corn for some of the local elevators

It is a gamble get a good accountant and put back about 200 dollars a week for taxes another 200 a week for maintenance and don't ever get repairs done at the table truck stop oil change is ok but I've been ripped off big time at the table truck stops and have some more money saved up for when you go home the truck payments never ever stop until paid off it's a big investment for your return

700 a day is crap on anything but a short 20 mile run.

Research these companies: landstar, bennett, admiral merchant, daily, and mercer
