You will be plenty busy "finding" shippers/recievers, fuel, somewhere to park, decent food blah blah blah than finding "yourself " !

"The easy way is very often the wrong way" So keeping busy and working hard is actually the right thing to do

I tell people I got into trucking because I love to travel.
Really though, it's because I love buffets.
Grab and move, people, grab and move! Skinny people hover. "Oh everything looks so good." Well then pick something! Grab and move.

Wargames, Zoltan1a, hup and 2 others Thank this.

There ya go with the mindset that the entire trucking industry is like working for a BFI . Many drivers are home weekly or nightly . They aren't at work 24/7 . Wannabes need to search for options other than OTR

I'd say quite the oposite happened in my case lol.....after 15 years as a senior manager dealing with the bs that comes with managing a large number of people, dealing with a union from the management perspective, dealing with customer contracts that can (and were) cancelled on a minute's notice, layoffs, and being tied to the desk and the office and on call 24/7/365, that I found myself and the office wasn't where I saw myself......got into the truck and never been happier and never looked back.
