We were checked for deleted emmissions at a Texas Scales House a few years ago. They popped the hood, and rolled a mirror around under the truck. CARB has set up at the 91 freeway scales and done inspecting and testing. We went through it and passed. I'm also hearing reports of random roadside emmision inspections happening here in California.

Stay out of Jersey and Cali anyways. With or without emissions.

Don't forget Colorado, but with all the pot they smoke they may not even notice.

You'll be fine, just stay out of New Jersey, California, Colorado, Houston, Arizona, New York, and any port in the country. BTW any LEO in the country can cite for altered emissions devices.

    HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART!!!!!

    READ THIS!!!!

The EPA will soon be sending undercover vehicles with altered emissions devices to see if a repair shop will notify EPA (as required by law). If a shop does not notify EPA, they get a big fine. Most dealers will notify them already but soon, even small shops will have to do it.

They've done this in the past, at times some came out of their Ann Arbor labs and would go to muffler shops in some parts of the state.

Not only deleted but I run through Banning and Cajon all the time with guys who have 20 year old trucks blowing smoke... Nothing seems to be getting done about dirty old trucks and absolutely nothing is being done about deleted trucks.

Seen guys get impounded in Jersey at the I-78 scales. Not sure what the fines were but they towed the trucks because they were illegal to drive on the road was the explanation I got when I asked.

If you delete (which I don’t suggest) be prepared to be fined, pay a tow bill, and pay a certified shop to put everything you removed back on your truck. And yeah, California is randomly checking emmisions. You never know what scale house they’ll be at, they move around a lot. A couple of weeks ago they were at the Cajon scales working inside the metal building.
