I'm just saying; why not just terminate the lease of anyone that's a liability to your business? When it's all said done the two of you combined make up a business partnership. It's not an employee/employer situation. Also, I just terminated my contract/lease with my most recent partnership because they had the audacity to charge me for a warning I received on an IEP chassis during a level 1 at the coups. From where I'm sitting you're just looking for another way to profit off of your contractors.

I still have a bit to save before I step out. I want 90 days worth of expense and bill money on the side before I pull the trigger. If all goes as planned, this time next year will be the time.
A warning doesn't affect you, nor your insurance in any way. Frankly I don't see how it's any of your business until there are actual violations attached.
You may have made "your drivers" contractors but you still see them as "your drivers"/employees. They no longer fit that description as now they are INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS...not employees. It would behoove you to keep that in mind because if you don't you'll find yourself struggling to handle your customers alone. All the contractors will leave for greener grass.
Why did you turn your employees into contractors in the first place?Last edited: Oct 16, 2017

No offense, but the word punishment makes you sound like a bad guy.
If you want people to work with you and continue to work with you it's much better to give them in an incentive to do the right thing rather than look for punishments for when they do the wrong thing. Incentive is always better than punishment. Incentive breeds quality where as punishment breeds contempt.
The right perspective is everything if you want people to continue to work for you on an ongoing basis.tlalokay Thanks this. -
FYI, this warning does effect my company, and you'll see that when you get your own authority. It brings 3 negative (TiW) points and lowers my total company's safety score.
Good luck with your plans...Last edited: Oct 16, 2017

The fact that you're making significantly more money now your overhead and responsibilities have dropped significantly you should EASY be able to handle the inevitable increase in SMS data you WILL accrue. I've never seen a warning shown on SMS data (which is what the insurance companies has access to).
