I'm with Mystic. I had the same problems. Turned out I had hypothyroidism and diabetes. Both of them will mess with your nerves and carpel tunnel is a side effect.
I would get some blood work done just to be sure.

I had carpal and ulnar tunnel work done about 20 years ago. When it's the ring finger and pinkie it's probably the ulnar (elbow) nerve that's messing with you. You can kind of tell if it goes numb when you lean your elbow on something too. And yeah, it can be a side effect of lots of interesting conditions so it's good to get checked.

Now you guys have me worried.
I had that bad when I was driving.
Now days I have often move my arms and pump my hands to make it go away.
I sometimes wake up and my my hands are completely dead.
I think I will get it checked out. -
That's what I had to do, and riding a motorcycle, I had to pull over first. That numbness did not go away that easily. But the day of my operations? Greatest days. Instant relief. -
Sometimes my butt goes numb but never my fingers. As someone posted on another thread, try loosening up that death grip ya got on the steering wheel
-
If you nose starts bleeding then your picking to deep to.
But seriously I don't know but I'd get it check out. Does taking any kinda of aspirin or aleve help? I ask because they thin your blood down and if it stops it could be circulatory. -

Well this may sound kinda odd but i would get the tingling in my arms and fingers, an old timer told me to take my wallet and whatever else i had in my back pocket out, and for me it went away, wont hurt to try. BE SAFE
Dave75 Thanks this. -
Dave there is a lot of good advice here. Mainly to get it checked out and taken care of. However, to get some relief in the mean time, you can let your arm and hand dangle down beside your seat and do finger flexes and wrist movements. (You MIGHT want to only do this one hand at a time, as steering with the knees can give you mixed results.)
Anyway, just wiggle your fingers and your wrist for 10 to 15 seconds at a time. Get in the habit of doing this, and it SHOULD help you until you are able to get to a doc.
Also, on the ulnar tunnel bit, I had surgery on my left one back in 1993. It did absolutely NOTHING for me but cost me money and down time.
trucker_101 and Dave75 Thank this. -
We are all different. This is what worked for me. Chiropractic care. Ever since I started trucking, I had wrist and finger numbness. Started seeing a chiropractor and massage therapist and it immediately helped. I stretch, too.
Here is how I stretch. I hold my hands so they face each other. I put my index finger tips together and my ring finger tips. I put my mIddle and small fingers down and push, as if to stretch just my index and ring fingers
Go to YouTube.com/drsmaggs. I'll make a video to demonstrate.
