The reason reefer companies do no-touch freight is because if the driver is unloading or loading, that time spent doing that counts against the 14 hour clock or 70 hour weekly clock. When lumpers do the loading/unloading, the driver can log "sleeper berth" and that time won't count against the driver.
Ok cool that's what I want if possible no touch freight so that would be great..I have applied to about twenty companies, and I am checking my tenstreet pulse however most recruiters that call me are telling me to call them when I get my CDL they can't move forward with the application until then
Just be prepared. The economy is crap and so is trucking at the moment. Your past is even more detrimental now than it would have been a few years ago. You may not get a job at all. Just being honest.
Some companies give a pre-hire letter. The letter tells the cdl student that if he passes the school and has any required endorsements he has a job waiting. Those recruiters telling you to call them when you get a cdl; call and say, "I have my cdl now and you said to call when I acquired it."
JRayl Transport | Quality Freight Services and Truck Driving Jobs I’ve driven for them for five years, good outfit. They hire new grads and they have a Columbus yard. As for your record, well, two of my trainers were ex-cons.
TransAm trucking is looking for student drivers for reefer work out of Columbus. No other info, the ad just popped up on my phone.
