From what I understand, you will be on the same fleet with people on the family plan. (I soooo much want to call them family planners.
) but that does not mean you will have to run like they do. Show 'em what you can do and you should be moved out of the beginner's fleet in fairly short order. I don't think there is any timeline set in stone. The better you do, the faster you will move forward.
Do your job, don't complain, don't turn loads down without consulting with your DM first and make friends in the office.nckid Thanks this. -
Will do - thanks.

Sitting here tonight at the El Paso terminal, this place is small... On the bright side I was able to get a few load ties without a hiccup, sweet..
Started the day out in ALbuquerque, nm this morning, dropped a trailor there and bobtailed over to walmart dc, then ran down here to tx. Ride was short and simple, next PP is pretty good, 4 stops, last one in chandler, az so close to home.. Im betting they want to get me closer to phx terminal and fire my ### for being a pian inthe rear trying to understand swift qualcom talk, that is some confusing ##### at first..
Truck runs/rides real well, one thing... cruise controll wont work, keeps telling me to push in the clutch to set it.. Ive done everything but call KW and ask if there is some secrete code sequence to activate it.. So I keep getting QC dings on down grades, grrr... maybe when i get back to phx i can take it over to kw for a day rather than the terminal shop and wait 3..
Guess ill be crashing here at el paso terminal tonight, not enough hours to get to first stop and I dont know the 180 well enough to know if there is a rest area along it.. Not to bad, atleast there wont be lot lizards knocking at my door like lastnight at the flying j..
Talk to ya all soon, drive safe !!
-=Peace -
Even with cruise control, you may end up with downgrade dings. KW is known for a lot of things. A strong jake isn't one of them. My suggestion: slow down. If you're going down the Dragoons with a 70K load, you should be in a gear no higher than 8th. The loads are set up to make them happen legally and with a 62mph truck.

the jakes in my kw are like a brick wall. my problem is that on cc they come on at 5 over set speed. i would prefer 2. have to run at 62 in hills so when the jakes come on i still have room on the fuel pedal to keep control of the drives. i wouldn't mind being able to run at 65 if i wanted to.
-
That one's easy. Turn the cruise off at the top of the hill.
I have not had a single overspeed in the 13 months I've been back with Swift. And I have run top of the governor on occasion. Like when I was running with BlackW900 across Wyoming. Naturally, his truck is not governed. -
Hello from SLC, Utah.. Sitting here in the terminal doing a reset.. Nicer weather up here, raining all day so far.. love the cool weather !!
Well I think I figured out the CC issue, there is a sequence you have to do in order to get it to come on, how, no idea, I just keep trying what I rememberd from the last time and its hit n miss, my leg appreciates it..
So far life out here has been great, hard, but great.. Ran from Albuquerque (Hard Rock hotel) parking lot up to Utah in a day, parked 30mins from my stop (Fed Ex) which is 9 miles from the terminal here, sweet, no sleeping and hanging around a TA for a day.. that and a free shower here.
Didnt sleep to well lastnight, as Im stressing a lil on loads and times, as I dont want them to be late, and NONE have been thus far.. The more I run, the more I realize my mentor didnt teach me all there is to know out here, meaning Macros'.. I feel like the DM's that are assigned to us newbs are getting sick of me calling and asking Q's.. well when they do answer after 30 mins on hold.. uhhg, better up my cell phone minutes..
Grabbed my last load out of El Paso the other day, and had the ABS light comeon the trailor, and dash.. Called onRoad to advise. Was told to hit a TA in Las Crusas and get it looked at.. Mechanic said trailor was dirty and probably clogged up the ABS sensors, which doesnt surprise me, as every trailor Ive gotten has been on its last legs.. no big deal, ill live.. Better safe than sorry I say, specially since I was going to run this mtns getting here..)
Whelp time to go eat and sleep most of the day away.. Probably do laundry later when this place calms down, no need to offend the drivers with my stank ### shorts.. lol..
Be safe out there,
-=PEacetallguy66 Thanks this. -
i will be back through there tomorrow morning. just might see you there.
