What's wrong with rookies? When something goes wrong you can blame it on the other guy.

Welcome may your mentor be a clean one.....And fartless

You can even let us know if your mentor is not so good. Some of us give great advice on what to do in that case!

lol yea and fartless, too.. :)

Just finished up my last test, open book test, on hazmat. I just have one more orientation class tomorrow, listen to speakers and watch vids etc. then get our driver numbers, then lean the QC macros, etc..

Not sure whom my mentor is as of yet, thats to be determined tomorrow. Either way looking forward to getting behind the wheel again, as its been 4 days, and im itching to get going..

Ill keep ya posted on how things roll out for me over the next few week, wifi willing.. thanks for all the advice and such, hope to see ya all out on the road !!

It's official ! I got my driver code today !!

Talked to my mentor, he's on a dedicated Target run.. Sucks, but...
I figured I have a lot to learn still QC, PTA's and of course more driving time, backing. So I'm going to take it day by day and learn all I can and become good as one can in 6-weeks(240hrs). Once I get SOLO status I'll more than likely NOT be on a dedicated run, as we were informed today that it's a 200+ driver list to get on one, and I dont want to run dedicated, nothing here in AZ I want to come home to ea. week :p

Meeting up W/ mentor at the terminal 7pm tomorrow and then im off.. Sounds like i'll be driving my first trip # night time.. Well might as well jump into it feet first and grab them gears..!

Also, IF anyone that uses WiFi at the PHX terminal, could ya send me the login, the instructors didnt know today in orientation, and the drivers I asked were like it's...uhhh.. something something.. /rollseyes

    Thanks all, keep ya posted..

..boy these hours sure do dwindle down when yer having fun..

Let me be the first to say.. Im NOT going to do a dedicated run, Target run to be exact. Lastnight we got hung up at Targets DC for 3 hours. Some lady decided to go to lunch and not tell us, and we waited...waited... then she comes back w/ an attitude grrr... We just made it to an am/pm parking lot with 2 minutes left on the 14hr. Lucky my 14hr was up 4 hours before my mentors and we grabbed some gears and got the hell out of there..

Boy oh boy do then o/o get pissed when a swift passes them.. lol.. I had a miller light truck talking ####, then not letting me pass when he lost momentum up the grade.. ohh well, made the drive home fun..

Today I got a call from mentor that he had no load or something, so we reset after 1 day on the road.. uhhg, I want to run and get going, this dedicated run is NOT my style at all.. Nevertheless, being out on the road (1 day) was cool..

    Hey grats on passing !

Now take all ya learned out on the range and throw it away.. lol

I was driving out in Los Angeles area all day yesterday and was spot on with turns, shifting, etc.. I had more of a sence of freedom to drive the truck and what not..

Have fun out there with your mentor !!!
