Alot of company's policy is to be alcohol free for 24hrs _after_ you are sober before for can drive. DOT can shut you down for 24 if there is any detectable presence of alcohol. Blow .001 and that's it.

I can't believe they didn't mention this to you in orentation.

Big company's have alot of rules and you should expect them/someone to follow them to the letter. Because that is easier for them to do when they have so many people working for them. Grey areas are difficult and too time consuming to deal with.

They just want to get through any situation quickly because there are more waiting for them. They don't have time to listen to you explain why you broke company policy, it doesn't matter to them what your trainer/mentor thought was ok.

Big company suck, but they are easy to deal with if you know what they expect, and what they expect of you. You can't do your own thing, or even try, untill you get your own truck/business.

After reading some of these posts, it sounds like some of these drivers should have gone into the ministry instead of trucking.

I highly resent the fact I can't pick up a six-pack of Tommyknocker in Colorado and take it home to California where it isn't sold without my job being threatened and incurring huge fines. America, land of the supposedly free.

Have you read the book? Andy spent three months in the hole after calling the warden obtuse. He had to eat rats during that time to prevent scurvy.

The movie was pretty good but, they left a few things out.

It's entirely possible that OP got caught red handed on the Swift dashboard camera.
