Fired for drinking off duty while on the road?

A trainer got backed into and squashed between 2 trailers at the Swift Academy......

 

"Hold my beer and watch this..."

In fact, I am pretty sure those were the actual words uttered.

I was on SAFER Web - Company Snapshot last week just perusing through some of the bigger company stats. Between Swift, J.B. Hunt & Schneider, man, what an eye opener.

2 year numbers:

Swift:
Fatalities 46
Injury crashes 545
Tow away 1318
OOS 15.1%

J.B. Hunt:
Fatalities 37
Injury crashes 490
Tow away 920
OOS 15.8%

Schneider:
Fatalities 32
Injury crashes 267
Tow away 698
OOS 13.6%

 

I can't imagine the staff of litigation lawyers these companies employ.

 

geesh, i do not remember this...i wonder too, what ever became of the student.... did he quit, knowing he killed someone..???

accident or not.......something went wrong that day.

 

Here is the condensed version.

1. Help me put this ripped off door in the trailer.
2. How much def do we put in the fuel tanks?
3. How many flat tires until the truck won’t pull?
4. Did the trailer have a massive hole when we picked it up?
5. Think I can back out of this ditch?
6. Are u turns illegal on the interstate?
7. How often does Swift drug test?
8. Does knocking a fence down count as an incident or accident?

Well is this like the NSA, where certain words or phrases trigger interest, or is there a team of live " listeners?"

 

For having that many trucks on the road that’s actually pretty low.

They should do a list like that for OOIDA members and see how they compare.
