    Fine. 100% on me if that makes you feel like a big bad supertrucker man who has never made a mistake in his life. But Im looking for advice to get out of this mess and into a new truck. All I did was explain what happened. Never lied about what I did, never expected to be patted on the back and told everything was going to be okay. Just looking for advice. Thanks for being nothing but a complete #######!

    I gave you the advise you needed. So now you know what to say when some is thinking about givimg you a 2nd chance.... They not looking for poor me excuses and finger pointing...

    So dont mess it up when you find that 2nd chance... Own it and show them your an adult that made a mistake and not a little.boy who will just do it again.

    So your advice is just say It was 100 percent my fault and it will never happen again? Why not just say that? Why the whole #### stain routine? Are you here to help or just to troll people who need advice?

    Since you never finished training with a Mega company and it's on your DAC report, you're pretty much blacklisted from a Mega company for awhile, maybe indefinitely.

    Since you never finished training and have minimal driving experience, very few companies will hire you because of the high insurance premiums with inexperienced drivers.

    You need to find a company that doesn't use DAC and will hire you with no experience or is willing to train you.

    Also if you have a need to drink alcohol, do it on your home time, far far away from the truck and make sure there's no alcohol in your system before reporting back to work, better yet just don't drink period, and you'll never have an alcohol related problem again.

    Good luck!!!!

    This is why I have a hard time believing some of these posted stories on TTR. Just seems like trolling to me.

    There is absolutely no way this guy didn't know, even if the story is remotely true, that Swift has a zero tolerance policy.

    Heck, I don't even, nor have I ever worked for Swift and I found it in their handbook on page 20 online in a matter of minutes. Less time than it would have taken for some guy to walk into the truckstop, buy a beer, carry it back into the truck and gulp it down.

    Oh id say it probably true....
    Seen stupid stuff like this enuf times...

    Ofcourse he knew it was 0 tolerance...
    No one buying that story.. Untill he stops trying to sell that i didnt know BS.. He never get a 2nd chance if he can even find someone that will give him a chamce to.explain it. And they be seeing if they own it or just give out a bunch of excuses... I know a couple ppl that got a 2nd chamce... And than blew it at there orientation/interview when they tried to down play make excuses or deflect blame....

    Hell i needed a 2nd chance. I owned my mistakes didnt down play aanything ot make excuses. And boom i got hired made 85k last year.

    Took me litterly 30 seconds to find Swift's handbook online. "Swift alcohol policy" in google and first hit is the pdf.
    While waiting in line to buy the beer you could have verified.

    ALCOHOL PROHIBITION
    Swift’s alcohol policy provides that a Driver shall not:
    • Consume or be under the influence of alcohol within 12 hours of: (A) going on duty, (B) being on
    Swift’s property; or (C) operating, or having physical control of a motor vehicle; or
    • Consume or be under the influence of alcohol while on duty, or operating, or in physical control of
    a motor vehicle;
    • Possess any alcohol while on duty, or operating, or in physical control of a motor vehicle, other than
    intoxicating beverages transported under a manifest as part of a shipment. This prohibition includes
    having any alcoholic beverage containers, full or empty, consumed or unconsumed, on a Swift truck
    or property at any time;
    • Use alcohol within 8 hours following an accident unless the driver has first been given a post-
    accident test and has been released from duty; or
    • Refuse to submit to a required alcohol test (whether post-accident, random, reasonable suspicion,
    follow up testing or pre-employment).
    NOTE: Swift’s Alcohol prohibition is more stringent that that required by FMCSR 382.505.

    That 12 hour rule would have meant that you would have been in violation even sitting in the ts and drinking it.

    Not gonna lie I can be a hard head more often than not, but one thing I tend to do is read the company handbook front to back. Several times over a period.
