1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

How many times I have been in a traffic court isn't the point. But the "proof of burden" isn't on the driver to prove he is innocent.
For a "Photo" ticket (speeding or red-light) it up to the Issuing company to PROVE; by using photographic evidence who was driving. And the OWNER of the vehicle IS NOT required by law to divulge the identity of the driver.
Take that as you will, but I have beat more traffic tickets than lost.....I beat my last three BTW, two of them were for speeding. And it didn't take more than showing up and arguing my side of the story.

Bah, photo radar is nothing but a money grab. I remember hearing one guy putting up a constitutional challenge to the photo-radar scam because the system was run by an Austrailian outfit, and therefor a tax to a foreign country.

3 in a week? Well he said he was a local driver, probably goes past the #### thing 5-6 times a week. Too bad they fired him, he could spend the next month going though the speed trap zone straddling both lanes at 15mph untill enough people get PO'd and complain about the congestion.

If the company doesn't have your back, it's time to move on. Did they pay the tickets without contacting you? Then they subjected you to a guilty verdict without your input. LAWSUIT.

Contact the local authorities and see if the tickets are still outstanding (ie they have/have not been paid) and be prepaired to contest them all. (but take any deal that exchanges cash for points, you'd rather have a clean license with light pockets rather than a suspended one with a few extra dollars.)

I used to be a Taxi/limo guy and got suspended back in the days because I didn't FIGHT EVERY TICKET. Amazing how parking tickets, busted tail lights, and failure to signal can add up to losing your job for a year.

but most importantly,,, WHERE IS THIS #### CAMERA? How about warning the rest of us?

A while back I ran US-30 all the way across Indiana from I-65 to Ohio, load was moderately heavy, yellow lights were short, I was going a reasonable speed, and I was forced to run atleast 20 lights that day. Most of them were yellow, turning red while i was under them, a few were just plain red before I even got there. I smoked my brakes on the first couple, stopping quite a few feet past the line, and then after that, i was like, to hell with this. The truck just dont stop like that. These lights are timed downright evil. Any time i enter an intersection while a light is red I blow my horn, unless it's night time and im in a residential area and have a clear enough view to see that nobody is anywhere near me.

One time i had to run a stop sign. I was taking some crazy route in texas that involved several farm roads. It was the only way to get to the customer. This one particular road deadends into another farm road, requiring you to make a turn. There is a railroad track 25 feet away from the stop sign. What exactly are you supposed to do? :p I'll tell you what *I* did: I stopped at the railroad crossing, looked both ways, but really couldnt see much of the road i was turning onto, put the truck in the second lowest gear, which for some reason is called first gear, and idled across the tracks until i got to the stop sign, didnt stop, made sure everything was clear, and made my turn without stopping, but without going fast either. Didnt shift on the tracks either. I could've easily gotten a ticket, but what was i supposed to do? drive through a field?

Go home and stay there before you kill someone or at the very least get retrained on how to drive a big truck on limited access highways. Happy New Year.

If that is what it takes. I generally run 5 mph below the posted speed when I am in a congested area. You have to look ahead and anticipate. There is no excuse for the actions you described.

I run that route all the time - and a lot of trucks blow by me like I'm standing still - while I'm at 5mph below the speed limit. They get up to the yellow and blow through a red.

Here's the deal. If you're being dispatched on such a short fuse that you drive dangerously, you need to be thinking about a different job. If you have time, but manage it poorly (i.e. can't keep the left door closed) then the problem is you.

Eventually you're luck is going to run out and you're either going to start collecting tickets (equals no job with CSA2010,) or you're going to seriously injure or kill someone (equals no job, reservation at the local slammer, and having to live with that the rest of your life.)

    Is it worth it?

As far as dealing with "robo-cops" - there's usually plenty of signs warning that they're ahead. That's the usual response to the constitutional issue of not being able to confront your accuser. If you're missing the signs, then you're not paying attention. And that means you don't need to be driving a CMV.

You gonna tell us how much over you was going?Spacifics on the location?Etc?1 MPH over will get you a ticket manually in a lot of places. We have s speed trap here.Goes 65MPH on a 4 lane divided.Go up a hill and just as you start down(100 feet from crest) it goes 55MPH.At the VERY bottom it goes 45MPH and the bacon does sit there.I even ticked on off a while back about it.He was doing rent a cop detail at the local dirt track. We were talking about my deuce and a half and I mention that if he ever sees me speeding through there speed trap there to get the heck outta the way can roll a medic cause I am outta control and your about to see a heck of a wreck. He didn't like my speed trap comment.hee hee hee. With tickets I don't think your innocent until proven guilty since it is a civil deal not a criminal deal. One of those BS rulings by a politically motivated judge.
