This might not be a popular thing to say. However, being fired for a U-turn can happen to most any driver regardless of whom they drive for. Once safety makes that determination you are unsafe they will show you the door!

If you miss your intended turn, keep going, do not make a U-turn. Then upon coming to a safe place to pull into, turn around, and head back out onto the road, in a safe manner, is how it should be done.

Your right, however, I want to amplify the point a bit more. It is more than just smaller vehicles sliding under the trailer. It is also possible to damage the road right-a-way infrastructure and have damage done to the undercarriage of the trailer. I have even seen 5th wheels turn loose and damage done to reefers and fairings broke off because of tight U-Turns.

Might as well "check the fifth wheel" while you are too, that way you can save a bottle to leave at the fuel island later.

Some people need to just accept the fact that driving a truck is something they arent good at.

Its reality in life, not everyone is good at or can do everything well...

3 backing accidents and a jackknife in the span of 1 year is pretty much as black and white as it can get that this guy needs to seek another career choice before the grand finale accident happens and he kills someone.

    The cold hard truth.... :dontknow:

Thread drift! I am not anywhere near the brightest bulb in the pack. 61 years of living has told me I don't know it all and never will either. I'm OK with that. I used to love to take a walk taking the long way around getting from my truck to the truck stop building. I used to always take note of 2 things I almost always saw on maybe 25% of the tractors parked there. First was heavy scratches to pushed in damage on the right side of the tractor from the headlight area to the fuel tanks. Then you see the broken fairings. Both are clear signs of being driven by someone in serious need of training.

Other violations I won't comment on, but seriously if you haven't had to pull a u-turn I doubt you have a lot of otr miles under your belt.
