Yes I do actually. I'm not getting in a hurry for you or anyone.
But your argument is piss poor at best.Dale thompson, Flint1, 650cat425 and 2 others Thank this. -
If they didn't leave up construction zones for miles and miles where there hasn't been any noticable work being done for days, weeks, or months, people might respect them more.
For instance, today on I 20W just past the Alabama border there was a big pile up, 5mph for about 2-3 miles through a claimed 7 mile "construction zone" yet all there was anywhere once you got to see was some cones on the side with not a single vehicle or evidence of any construction having occurred anywhere there. Just a couple idiots slowed everybody down to a crawl for no reason going through there.Accidental Trucker, bigguns, Aamcotrans and 2 others Thank this. -
Right now on I. 41 they are resurfacing 30 miles of roadway north of milwaukee. They shut down one lane in bith directions as they section/patch the concrete, open things up for a day or two, then shut down the lane as they lay down the asphalt topper. As they're working equipment and workers regularly move outside the cones. A few weeks ago a skid steer was trying to pick up a chunck of ruble and lost control, nearly hitting a worker. As that worker scrambled to avoid the skid steer, he lost his balance and fell into the roadway. The car in front of me ran off the road, I stopped well back.
What are the odds that if the car had hit the worker, the car would have been cited for speeding?
Last week we came out of the construction zone - sign said work ended with a 70 mph speed sign. Not a half mile later we went down to 1 lane again.
Last spring on of the guys posted about the Beloit construction zone and how an idiot almost chased a piece of paper into the roadway. A few days after that I was going thru a crossover there and construction workers were sitting on the jersey barriers. Trucks were supppsed to be in the left lane, so if I was just a little off, the lean of the trailer could have brushed them while not touching the barriers.
Today on 894, they shut down the right jand lane with NO warning. We came around a left hand bend and needed to merge within a 1/4 mile. A half mile in there was an electronic sign saying "right lane closed 1/2 mile".
Too often construction zones are set up poorly and signed poorly. Laying all the blame on speeders is understandable, but not quite just. -
No orange barrels were harmed in the making of this episode. -

You might want to check out Forza out of Laredo. I don't know anything about them but I see them a lot around here.
Need4Speed and UturnGirl Thank this. -
you got canned by bolt?
Wow, that is like being canned by rush trucking for not trying to run people off the road.
You were caught in a 45 zone doing 60 plus. That's ... ah ... 15 over, serious issue.
We are really screwed up here with the construction speeds. There was a huge effort to get the 'when workers present' crap added to the signs but then they broadly defined what a worker is and when they are working. I was pulled over for this crap, the workers were on the service drive but still got hassled.
I wonder if you were the truck in the side of the road with the cop just before the 11 mile road exit the other day, it was a bolt truck..
Well good luck, you'll be fine, -
JB Hunt would hound me about a dedicated position hauling beef to Colorado from the beef plant off leopard street. Home on the weekends I think.Need4Speed and UturnGirl Thank this. -
