I see what you mean but this is the only incident I have on my record. As I called my driver leader to inform them of the incident, I got my ears torn out because I did not report the incident immediately which violated their team rules.

I’m about to send an application with Schneider. If I get a phone call with a recruiter is there anything I should or should not say?

Submit the application from Western Express website.

Tell the recruiter you want tankers. You'll starve to death with dry van. You may have to pull dry van for 3 or so months, then attend tanker school. If so, do that, but make sure the recruiter programs you for tankers. If the recruiter says "no" then tell him you're not interested.

If they bring up my termination, should I explain what happened exactly? Or anything I say won’t matter if they see the reasoning behind my termination.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

I know Chinatown and others are saying don't report it, but you really should. The minute it happened, once you got your trailer out. Don't leave the customers property without reporting it next time. It's the right thing to do.

Think of it like this, if someone scraped your property you would want to know about it and you would want the person to own up to it.

I know it's not OTR, but you could always consider yard dogging. It's local and your home every night. Good luck in whatever you decide.

In the old days I would agree, but nowadays they would figure it out when they looked at the ELD and the dash cam.

If they ask, be 100% truthful. But don't volunteer anything they don't ask about.

Exactly why I even reported it in the first place, I was afraid they were going to check dash cams if they found out about the damage.
