I never heard from the O/P on my idea to get his friend back on his feet and continue in the trucking industry. I guess I'll just pick up the pieces of my broken heart and hum a sad country western tune to myself.:sad7:

I was a trainer 7 years at proof.Had several that were top driving school grads that couldn't be trusted to operate a wheel barrow. Its quite common.

If a company robot truck baby sitter 30 years from now rolled the robot truck (2000 miles away) does that make him responsible?

There are two cliche's I have used for almost my entire life. "That dog won't hunt" and "It just doesn't pass the smell test". Honestly, I have avoided a direct reply to the OP because all I would say was a rehash of several others. I try to not be so cynical as to not believe anything I see in these boards, but honestly, the OP here has made comments I find hard to believe.

With all that said let's take a flight of fancy an assume the OP is telling the truth. It would be difficult for this person to get a job "right now", after some time it should loosen up a bit. Me? I would not hire anyone that has a history of rollovers and/or truck/load abandonment. I rather sell my equipment before I took a chance with either. Good thing I don't own a fleet I guess.

I feel your pain, TB. Maybe go out and polish some lug nut covers, that always cheers me up.
