I do the same, like I said, it comes with the territory, sometimes there is nothing you can do. Myself, I try to roll over the curb if possible other than running the sidewall across it's face. If I was in a day cab, I would be fine, as my tandems are all the way forward too and this would not be an issue... But my tractor is 244"... I can only do so much. And I have been to Boston with an even larger set up, 270" Petes and W900's with 53' reefers, right downtown, I'm sure the roads were the same. What is your point?

point was, you were saying about 40 foot trailers in tight places...no matter where many of us go..there will be tight places.
it's all in the set up, and observation we need to avoid what happens as in the case of the o/p.Oldironfan Thanks this. -
I think I know that... The op made a rookie mistake, I used to have drivers, it is not something I would lose sleep over unless she did real damage, like tearing off the tandems.
-
well obviously, her employer did not lose any sleep as well, as it was easy to fire her...
-
These big outfits do that, drivers are a dime a dozen.
-
yes, they are......many times too, these mega companies as you know, get federal funding for employment..screw up once, get fired, they still get to keep that money.
all the company has to show is they employed someone under the program..."hey, they didn't work out"...and get MORE new raw recruits...."let's start this again"....Trucking in Tennessee and Justrucking2 Thank this. -
Yep, 50 victims waiting in the wings.
buddyd157 Thanks this.
