IMHO--the problem with most of the drivers being mentioned here is pay--to often--buckets containers etc--especially local ones--are paid by the load--and well you know the rest---
As for freight haulers--there was a time that most of them were the creme of the crop--and you old F****** like me know what I am talking about--back when you didn't bother putting an ap in @Big R etc with less than 10years and fully expected to either work the dock most of the time or run casual couple times a week for awhile--while they still have higher standards than many--the day(not too long ago)I saw ads at the cashbox on the Pa Pike for BigR(well yeloroadway or whatever they are today)advertising for drivers--2years exp needed--well lets just say things have changed!

I think that number is closer to 25% but your right he has a better chance of getting a job away from general freight.Injun Thanks this. -
You know, your probably right, because I have seen all this too. But its been a while since I seen a freight hauler lock-em all up.
I dont think Every rock hauler is dangerous, or freight hauler dangerous, its just seeing more and more stupid s_ _ t out here. Accidents can be preventable in most cases. -
Only thing I can say is wait for 3 years so most of the trucking companies' insurance plans dont care about them if their that long since in 3 years it doesnt affect most of the companies' insurance plans. They still will frown at that even if its that long. When my daddy started to drive for HEB grocery company in texas the company was picking the drivers with no tickets in the last 5 years. He got lucky and he is retired now after over 20+ years of driving for them
